Any one got a link or know where i can find a new pair of the above please as mine have seen better days and are falling to bits
-
iirc dont you have to remove bearing to replace them seems like a lot of work just for backing plates dude
-
I'v just orderd Brembo disks & pads and thought i might as well change the plates as they look
Woulden't you bother then?
-
ooh nice yeah prob would mate but just seems a lot of work cant remember exactly but its the hub or bearing gotta come off to change them im sure someone will know mine are a bit shabby and could do with changing to
-
Okay thanks mate
-
Where you get brembo discs and pads from bud
-
dealers, about £15 each. You have to pull the wheel bearing off to get at them though
-
Reading this I'm now :undecided:
-
Time to change your wheel bearing as well then
-
Sounds alot of work just to replace the bloody backing plates
-
I shall go and take a closer look.
-
Are we talking about the stone shield things? Rears are more long winded but fronts are easy to change.
-
Yea it's just three or so small and probably highly corroded bolts....
-
Yes the rear ones. Iv managed to find a pair at my local VW stearlers! Not bad actually £15.30 for a pair.
-
Have fun changing those!
-
Rear ones need the inner race of the bearing pulled off the stub axel to get the shield off. Then if you've gone to all that effort you may as well put new hub/bearings on.
-
Cheers steve. Will keep you all posted how i get on. Plates are coming in on Thursday so hopefully be done by Friday then i can get my new wheels on ready for UD
-
