Cooking on a gas BBQ is for girlymen.

Best time to buy a BBQ is after the summer.

Charcoal is the only way to fly, we use the lightable bags in a nice big old steel bbq , light quickly and ready to cook in 30 mins then it stays warm all night....luvvly.
-
Get a barrel, cut it in half, weld some legs on, get a huge grill for both halves, paint with high temperature stuff, done.
Man up and learn to light charcoal!

The best way to get charcaol up to heat fast, is get newspaper, scrunch it up and twist tight, putting about 10 or more pieces down. Then lay the charcaol ontop, and light the paper underneath. Get your misses hair dryer, and blow the paper on the low setting first, then use the high setting once the charcaol bricks start to catch light.
No need for the use of some stinking accelerant, and the hair dryer blows the paper embers/ash out. Takes about 10 minutes, then you start cooking.

3 scary things 1) you woould consider getting finance on a BBQ 2) you'd spend 500 on a BBQ 3) gas wft is that all about you cook on that everyday inside.
get barrel cut in half, bolt legs on, has BBQ as for lighting them quickly

Glad someone else agrees with the barrel BBQ's
Not a bad price for 2 barrels, which will give you 4 BBQ's, plenty for being an entertainer.

Or go find one from a local industrial estate, pick up some thick steel struts to use as legs, bolt or weld on, nice big grill for plenty of meat. Done.

That's even better then, but that was my point, you can get a decent size BBQ for A LOT less than £400+
-
i prefer useing gas cylinders but barrels work.
for an optimal barrel BBQ the smaller ones work better it think, a 60 ltr in half is a good size if loads of people to feed fire up the other half as well.
-
But....if you really must!
£29.99
