Title: Passenger side engine mount

How much movement should there be? the part im talkin about looks like this:

Just one each side, then the dog bone mount underneath.

yep thats what i thought

well i can push my engine back (not pull forwards) by about 3-4 inches, this normal?

I'd say that's excessive movement; it should barely move at all!

vw spares (avsparts) do engine mounts.. dont know what make they are.. have got laods other parts off them and they always same manufacturer as dealers use so they should be ok.. there about 30-40 quid too :smiley:
