Anyone else have a horrible weekend job? I'm at Derby university at the moment and have a contract of 16 hours at Farmfoods, but every weekend they give me 20 hours over 2 days and you have to fight for your legal breaks!
Tomorrow i'm doing 8am-9pm  then 8am - 5pm on sunday possibly with one 30 min break over those two days...seriously an awful company ./rant :embarassed:

every thursday, friday and saturday night I used to work 4pm-5am, aswell as going college 9am-4pm, was a right killer being half asleep at college in the workshop playing with electricity! did enjoy the job though, did quit in the end as I was on less than minimum wage and offered a job up to christmas, now I'm struggling with finances and struggling to keep my car on the road, just have to keep applying for jobs.

If it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger!
TBH I would work weekends at uni back then.
leave 8.00pm Saturday night, drive all the way over to East london load up two luton vans with heavy leather goods and market gear, hit the sack about 2.00am then get up 5.00am drive down to Wembley market.
Unload the market gear set up the bars tarpin would be about two hours work lifting heavy bars then unload the stock which would be another two hours. Then hit 9.00am and start to sell stuff to flashy ladies with knockers, repeat the whole process after work get paid £60! It just covered rent on the sh!thole we called student housing!
The only fun bit was having the other guys chat sh!t all day and doing pull up competitions on the bars to warm up during winter  Lunch break what lunch breaks? We got more money if we sold more, but it was grulling!
I few of my mates wanted to make money they didn't last the day!
What did it teach me?
You work harder than anyone else because when you hit low its low!

Saturday and Sunday 07:00 to 19:00 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 19:00 to 07:00, but have to be willing and able to cover other shifts on 30 minutes notice, say no twice and I get the sack, so can't drink if I want and can't go out anywhere, only good thing is I do fcuk all at work, just sit there and make a check call every hour. just glad to be working again.
