I am looking to change the dash in my mk1. Any suggestions which other cars I can use the dash from with the least amount ot mods. Or any where I can get a custom dash made??
-
I heard an Audi TT is a good fit - would look very nice too
-
Polo dash looks good too.

Which Mk??
Is it much work?

MK 4, looks really cool, nice blue instruments. Not much cutting required im told, wouldnt fancy takling the wiring myself though!!!

Want a Corrado dash or something in my cab. Trouble is, that kneebar getsin the way of everything.
Anyone know of any instructions anywhere on the web for fitting any other dashes to a mk1 cab? ???

Some web trawling required methinks! It must've been done a thousand times easy! Try google.de ;)

I'm considering using a written off Audi TT as a donor car for my future MK1 project. I've been led to believe that the dash (as adamB mentioned), engine in fact most bits will transfer with relative ease. :-\
Any thoughts?

Just an idea at the moment........it'll probably be years before I'm allowed to do anything to it. ???

Justin, Am I going mad, or has AdamB nicked your signature pic? ??? ::)

Rich. if you're not going to use the dash i'll take it off your hands for my mk2. also wanna sell the fuel filler? ;D

actually sod that! I've just seen the amount of work that's needed. mk3 dash it is :D
Still want the filler cap though.

Most of the stuff I have now I want to hang on to. There may be a few Mk2 bits that I'll move on, when I get around to it, but anything Mk1 I will be keeping. Still haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do with that Mk1 yet, other than hang onto it.
I've got a conservatory to finish building, a bathroom to decorate and numerous other jobs that I have put off whilst puting the cabrio on the road so the cars will now have to wait a while.

strange - my name's Simon Scott. I'd recommend a mk2 dash, it fits really tight as there's an extra mount in the firewall - no reflection of the sun off the instrument area and round dials too. Not really for the purist though and mine's in a campaign. darren at VW Enterprises did mine ages ago, don't think he likes doing them anymore but he's worth a try.

I've heard the BMW 3 series dash fits very well, the e reg era.... They look pretty classy...

I used to have a BMW 325 in that shape - one of my favourite dashes in any car. I'd love to see one in a mk1.
I'd like to put one in mine if it wasn't too hard - anyone done it?
