Its getting warmer now, but I don't want to take them off! The grip is phenomenal (in the dry and wet) and the 15" steels are comfortable and super lightweight.
I don't want to put the big lumbering 18"s back on - they ruin the comfort, handling and acceleration (but don't half look good).
I'm hoping for some March snow so I can get some actual use out of them :D

Did anyone here actually genuinely need them? As in, did they get you out to work or something when everyone else on the street struggled? Or stopped you from crashing out in a great fireball? I didn't get any, and I really didn't need them. I drive sensibly when roads are icy, and this winter wasn't as bad as last year. Waste of money IMO! :lipsrsealed:

I've had a set of winter wheels for years. It doesn't have to be snowy/icy for them to be of benefit, they provide far better grip when cold than all weather/summer tyres.
Reason I had to put mine on was because one of my normal tyres was down to the threads!
Waste of money? No way, £100 for a full set of steels and top quality M+S tyres, that outgrip my normal tyres by a significant margin - it was a bloody sensible purchase.

same here... only paid £100 when the others were worn out. Mine were unbeatable for around 3days and wouldnt have got by without them.
They will simply get put into storage and brought out again next year when required.

No idea where you guys buy your winter tyres from. Online decent ones cost more than normal tyres!

Got mine literally brand new, from a poor sod who bought a Cooper S Works and realised the 15"s wouldn't fit over the callipers. He bought the set from BMW for £600 and eBay'ed them - I won them for £100 + £20 delivery :D
I can't remember the make of tyre, but when I checked the price when I bought them, each tyre was ~£130 ea. They are properly good tyres.

Only if you buy them when there's actually snow on the ground
I'll be taking mine off this weekend too
