Title: Mk2 Jetta engine conversion, need as much help/ info as you got :)

Hi. Where to start. My dad had a mk2 Jetta 1.8 8v with a gear box problem so I thort about putting a mk3 abf init and was told the best way to go about this was to buy a doner car. So fast forward a month or two. About two weeks ago I bort a mk3 16v gti to use as my daily. Dad was on about selling the Jetta so after a lot of thinking and head scratching I thort the Jetta is in too gooda nick (shell, body work and interior) to sell just bcoz of the gear box. So I'm gunna buy the Jetta off him  :smiley: and use my 16v as the doner car. My question is how much do I need of the mk3 for the conversion? And what else do I need to get that the Jetta and the golf hasn't got? Any other info/ advise would be great
