Has anyone got a 110tdi bora/golf close to 200bhp? If so what type of modifications would be needed?
Thanks

Crikey.....
Injectors, turbo, FMIC for starters

Yep, take the engine out and put in a tdi 150 then remap...... :lipsrsealed:

best be leaving that then. any ideas what i will gain from a good re-map?

Sorry for the 20 question but im new to having a car that a can modify performance wise but, individually, what gains can i expect from the following:-
Front mount intercooler
stainless exhaust system
induction kit.
Also can i legally run my car(bora 110 tdi 1999) without a cat? Was told it didn't need one but im not sure how true it is
-
yes mate a diesel doesnt require a cat by law , but i did read a post on here from a guy saying it slowed his car down as it lowers back pressure! suppose it depends on what mods you do with it .

front mount intercooler lowers the temperature of aire going into the engine. as cold air contains more oxygen it makes a bigger explosion in the cylinder therefore more power. a lot of people rate a side mount intercooler made by turborevs. its a direct swap for the existing one
induction kit. doesnt do much really as itll just suck in hot air from the engine (heatsoak) so is a bit pointless unless you were to get a dedicated feed one like a pipercross viper, bmc, k&n apollo or one that moves the filter to behind the bumper. carbonio, k&n typhoon. personally id go fo a pipercross panel filter in the air box and smooth the airbox. use google to find out about that theres loads there
decat. the cat is more of a particle filter on a derv so itll be a bit more smokey. but itll make the turbo spool up quicker and at slight lower revs. the back pressure wont matter on a turbo as it wants to get rid of exhaust gas asap

Thanks that's a big help. What would be more effective a front mount or a side mount intercooler?
-
a decnt front mount would be effective but a side mount is less work. a lot less as with a front mount youll have to modify the front x member and a few other things. do a search on the turborevs unit, a lot of people ratethem well

Regarding your cat, you can run legally without, but new mot laws means if it was fitted as standard from factory it needs to be on to pass mot.
So keep a hold of it for your mots if u decat.
