Title: What car for £6K?

May have found a buyer for the scoob, and with a few extra pennies thrown in will have a budget of about 6K for a new car.

I need something relatively frugal, would like a bit of poke, and nothing too small. Getting too old for the modding game now (and really can't be bothered to throw money at something that will ultimately lose value), so it would be good if it looked good out of the box.

What would you buy?

a decent a4 tdi avant or bmw 330d or maybe a 530d  :smiley:

Fuel and tax - average. It's more about the car, just not sure what I want.

VAG would be good, but it's not a lot of money to buy anything that nice.

Thats a 6 MPS, the 3 is FWD. Seeing as the 6 loses around 30% of power i would pluck for the 3

Will be a daily and have to do about an hour of driving a day. Could be classic or newer, but newer preferred as I need reliability and for things to not constantly need doing.
