Got a Pioneer head unit in mine AVIC-F920BT.(already fitted when i got car) but looking at paperwork looks like you have the correct parts, mine is sat nav/dvd also. There a great piece of kit by the way.
-
Fitted mine myself yesterday sounds amazing, I dunno I'd it's me but are the standard speakers really good or must mine have the upgraded speakers coz it sounds like mine has a sub its that good,
Will get some pics up soon
-
The standard speakers aren't bad tbh. The standard headunit is a bit weak so you don't get the most out of them. Mine sounded much better with an aftermarket setup too

Hey mate can I ask where you got these from (links)? I haven't noticed this one before. You can't argue with £250 for iPhone and DivX compatibility! Also does it play video when the vehicle is in motion (for passengers to watch, obviously...)
-
Also dont forget if you have an early model GTI MY05 you also get the bigger 8 (or 10? I cant remember now) speaker setup :afro:

These are the price of my local audio shop mate, and when I fitted it I had dash out he told me which wire to cut to bypass having it play whilst in motion :p
Its an amazing unit will get some pics up soon

Most aftermarket HU's are 4x50w or even 4x60w whereas the VW units or either 4x15w or 4x20w depending on the model, so you'll definitely get better sounds out of them. Be aware though that the OEM speakers aren't that good a quality and VW deliberately limit the power to them as they can distort at certain frequencies and volume.
-
True...they also tend to run on a different ohm frequency to aftermarket components as well...I ended up stripping my components out of the front as the speaker positioning was awful for a 2 speaker set up up front (plus other issues with supplier!) and they lost all the mid with the positioning.
Pioneer over Alpine HU as well for the standard speakers
Any pics of the headunit fascia...as for that price wasnt it the black version and not the grey rubberised??
-
Was it easy enough to fit? Might go for one of these seem much better value than the RNS 510 even without the Sat Nav.

The hard bit is not scuffing the fascia that is already there...there are several youtube walk throughs
