Title: mk golf gti turbo problem
Post by: paddy2011 on 27 February 2012, 00:44
hi guys im wondering if you could help me, i bought a 1998 mk4 golf 1.8 20v valve turbo about 8 weeks and everything was going fine until the other night when i drive suddenly the boost would just drop to zero, this happened in 3rd,4th and 5th gear, also another thing what boost should it be running at because im getting between 8-10 psi, the only mods the car has is a dump valve, cone filter and a scorpion full system and its running k03 turbo with the agu engine, hope you guys can help

The dump valve will not be helping, they do not work on a 1.8t

Not going into to limp mode is it?  (dont know much about limp mode behaviour ones these as mine is the old skool AEB engine)   But limp mode will most certainly cut boost.
