Title: ChRome inlet manifold

How or what is the best way to chrome my inlet should I get some 1 todo it or DIY ??

No spray u just need loads of sand paper differnt gritts, n metal polish.

Not spray but sand paper, only after it's free of pitting/abnormalities then can you begin the polishing process. It's a long process, by the end of it my fingers were kaput!

This is polishing and not chrome by the way.

if i degrease mine use carb cleaner and give it a quick sand down.. it will be good for high temp paint?? dont need no primer or laquer do you with high temp paint

your inlet doesn't need high temp paint,just your rocker cover

oh right ok.. i will use hammerite tho incase.. will 500ml do it? want to do it blue same as silicone pipe colour if can find it  :grin:

i used a 400ml can for both rocker cover and inlet mani,high temp for rocker cover and what was left on inlet to save money and get a good colour match

yeah to make it high temp worthy it had to be baked in oven,so rocker and inlet both off,new gaskets on and a lot of head nipping from wife for stinking up the house with car parts cooking

my mum would put me in there if i tried that tho so ill sit there with my wire brush instead  :grin:

did you use the paint or spray can?

Smoothrite is fine for a rocker cover does not need to be high temp paint

Elbow grease! I quite like the crackle black paint you can buy in the can though. Much easier!

That crackel black paint is a pain in the ass I spent the last 2 hours scrubing it off want the shiny look so I just got to keep sanding till shiny ??

Electric sander (only when using super fine) then polishing wheel, i wouldnt polish it by hand would take forevevr!

Still haven't done my throttle body yet but all in good time  :grin:
I'm having a hard time deciding whether to paint my intercooler black for the stealth look or polish that too
