Title: Strange light problem.
Post by: alba15031 on 26 February 2012, 13:22
Hi chaps.

My mk2 gti 8v has been off the road for 5 months over the winter. I went and start it up yesterday and noticed the dash, switches and heater light come on with the ignition without the headlights being turned on. It was fine before i took it off the road has anyone got any ideas what could be causing it.

Cheers

I just tried it without the headlight switch connected and it was exactly the same. I also noticed when I rev the engine the lights dim. I aint got a  clue what this could be.

Check the alternator brushes for wear.
