Title: Oil pressure warning.
Post by: stainesy on 25 February 2012, 09:10
Got my car out of the garage today. Drove it round the corner to my house. And suddenly got a red warning on dash screen saying STOP. WARNING. Oil pressure. STOP STOP.
So I pulled over turned engine off. Checked my oil level and gave it a once over and all seems fine. Then started it up again took it round the block and the warning light didn't come on again.

Any ideas why it did that? Scared the fcuk out of me.

As it only did it once when I first started the car and hasn't since and been driving it about all say. Going to assume it was just a little fcuk up and that's it. If it comes on again then I will do something about it.

youd be better off calling it a warning  that should be acted on.

if your oil pressure did actualy drop due to pickup issues it will do it again and it'll do it for longer, problem is next time it come in your likely to in the middel of nowhere with no phone signal or just down teh road from home and will push on thinking it'll be ok.   it will then go bang

You'll see it once you open up the sump
