Had to take my cat to vet last night cos some c##t hit him in there car last night poor thing staggered home and made it through the cat flap bledding through its nose and eye socket and limping with all its claws shredded.£300 later hes making a recovery with no broken bones or internal injuries.he just cant smell at the moment and being fed liquid food via a syringe.my tiggy boys a fighter!so please if ur driving around a housing estate drive carfully and be aware of animals as well as people.everyone including me likes a nice fast drive around(within speed limits of course)but theres a time and place for everything and on a one way road on a housing estate with parked cars everywhere, speed bumps and on a 90 degree bend is definitly not the place.rant over now just had to get this off my chest!

Joking glad its okay nothing worse than not knowing whats wrong with the little fella!
Guess it stands for small kids aswell as animals!

Same thing happened to my cat last year......spent weeks out looking for him and luckily found him in a bush still alive but very poorly. Basically his jaw had split right down the middle and part of it went up behind his eye and damaged a nerve. £380 and a week in the vets :sick:. Had to have his jaw wired for 6 weeks. I go out my way to make sure I don't hit anything no matter what it is but still see idiots tearing through the suburbs not caring a jot. I hit a cat at 60mph on a main road about 10 years ago and was riddled with guilt for ages. If i'm out washing my car or something I see a speeder in our street and let them know exactly how I feel about it. Its not just animals but young kids too.

Yea totally stands for kids to,vet said luckily his jaws ok did mention wireing if it was broke though.sometimes its unavoidable to hit something obviously i get that but people just shouldnt be driving fast in some areas.i just feel like it shouldnt have happened where it did.my cats not stupid and doesnt run out in front of cars.if he was in the road the driver would have had ample time to stop if driving carefully and been observing the road as they should be in these surroundings.

Some people, and i'm talking about pure scum here, would drive at a cat with intent of hitting it. They exsist as I have met them.

yea i know they do mate its shocking really i can understand hunting and shooting etc for food fair do's but a domesticated pet is part of the family as far as im concerned.i couldnt harm someones pet intentionally and if i did i would stop try to help it and notify the owner if i could.like you said earlier to its the guilt as well.would eat away at me.

I hit a cat once. In the same night I was followed and pulled by the police twice and breathalysed on one of those stops.
Pretty sure the cat was just shaken up but it was a horrible feeling. No tag or collar to try and find the owners and it just ran off. :sad:

I was walking down my road when a BMW hit a cat. The driver stopped, got out, took one look and then drove off.
Poor cat died in the back of my Dads car on the way to the vets :/

I slowed down to a stop 2 days go for a cat in the middle of the road. He suddenly jumped in the air and ran over to the pavement, so I thought he had a delayed realisation that his life was in danger. Sort of like car = bad Arghhhh, runaway.
But no, I was about to start off again, and he came flying back onto the road jumping and pawing away at thin air. The silly sod was chasing a fly.

I remember my dad hit a cat when I was little in his stupid Picasso and we all got out of the car knocked on every door till we found the owner, we of course apologised and paid for the vet bill and thankfully he made a full recovery....so totally don't understand these people who intentionally go out of there way to hit a domesticated pet....or even if it wasn't intentional and drive off, surely they wud be racked with guilt, well I wud be anyway!
Shame on these people.....shame!

I nearly hit a fox driving home the other day... was going about 60 and I swear as he came in my line of sight I though he was a gonner!! some how he survived :shocked:
would have made a right mess of the car :undecided:

sorry to hear that, i have the same views, but on the flip side, the night before christmas eve, my mrs swerved to miss a cat, and ended up rolling her car, and is still in alot of pain with back injuries etc. kind of puts it in a different perspective for me now.

She was hit by a blue E46 doing 55MPH.
She is alright now. All she has is a broken leg and a fractured wrist.
She wanted her picture taken to show her mates at school.

S#¡t mate thats bad shes lucky really to have such minor injuries,could have been a lot worse at that speed init hope she makes a full recovery.

my female black and white cat was run over and left in road she was only 2 and had since birth, i still gutted now, she was out a lot and went far least she enjoyed life. She was very friendly and affectionate cat, came hoem all time and slept on me been 6 months since she died. I cant help thinking how it happend probably some idiot in car as she was a smart cat. She must died right away as had a mark on head that was all. Sorry to hear of other peoples cats being injured. I still got teh male one. I got to attached you dont realise until they are gone :(
I didnt find mine untill put up posters, i didnt get around to chipping her. Some peopel didnt take to vets they warpped up in a box and left in coutry i had identify her partly decomposed after 10 days, whole experience was awful, shame they didnt just take to vets as i did ring them all. Thye said thought was best thing as couldnt find owners as cat wasnt run over near my address was about half mile or more away. Thye said found in middle road at 7am. I just glad i knew what happend to her in the end.
There was a cat i found as well a few months ago, due my experience i had box in car. The cats was on bypass 60mph road there houses on other side, it was middle road i felt couldnt leave it there to be flatted it was 3am on foggy night. I knoticed intestines hanging out, i dint really look at cat picked up with glooves and put in bin liner and box and left outside vets with a note, i got a message nex days say thanks and they found owners as was chipped. Was quite sad but at least wasnt on road. Bet know one else would of picked it up

I always try and avoid animals.
The only thing I've ever hit was a badger, and that was already dead!
Was a fat f**k*r though, nearly took the splitter off (was too late to swerve thanks to the mk2 dipped beam)
I also had the heating on as it was quite a cold night, instantly got the smell of burning flesh and hair being pumped into the car.
I was cold for the rest of the journey until I got to a petrol station with a jet wash.

Might not be the drivers fault. Cats do tend to just run out into the road.
