Title: Smart car as business car
Post by: RichGtiT on 24 February 2012, 10:06
Hey everyone, I'm looking at spending 2k on a smart car city coupe to wrap up and use as a run around town to promote my business.

Has anybody had any experience with Smart cars of this age? Any major problems I should be wary of?

Thanks!

Good to hear!

Around that age a lot of them are LHD, has anyone ever had a problem insuring a LHD?

This Lot can laugh but I like the smart car for city driving. Even tempted to  in the golf if I get a camper and get a SMART for running around  :lipsrsealed:

Even the brabus edition wasn't anything special but they are economical.

If you can find someone to fix LHD smarts it should be okay most dealers will not touch imports?
Possibly thats why there are so many for sale? I would check if GSF stock parts for that model if they do all good!
But good advertising if you park the thing in the right place!

So his choices as a company promo vehicle are:

A Tractor smoke blowing derv that he can drive around his competitors to create a smoke screen

or

A LHD lawnmower that no body wants because no body can fix and is a death trap in an accident, if you don't die when the person in front rolling back on a hill start.

  :lipsrsealed:

Smarts are a lot safer than the competition

And there are loads of independents who deal with smarts, pattern parts are available and who really takes a 10 year old car to a main dealer?? Especially merc!!

As its for business mate have you thought about leasing a new one? Can be had on 2 year deals for £100 a month Direct from smart

Plenty of food for thought here.

Jord, yeah I thought about doing that but I'm not sure where I stand RE credit as I've not long become full time self employed  :undecided: and I don't really want an application to be rejected when I could just buy and older one out right....
