Title: Rear wiper on mk4 gti
Post by: gtimed on 23 February 2012, 18:17
Hi,

Im new to the site, i was wondering if anyone has ever had a Mk4 with a rear wiper that switches on by itself and wont switch off until it stops on it own and then wont switch on again.

for some reason (sometimes) when you leave the car overnight switch the ignition on the next day it seems to reset itself, and do the same all over again.

Pain in bum!

Has anyone had this problem??

The odd time, mine used to randomly wipe my rear window with I turned the key in the ignition. I never use my rear wiper as I have severe OCD and cant stand the water running down the boot door. So I removed the wiper and motor, and replaced it with this. No more random wiping now

The boot light problem will mean you need a new boot catch as the micro switch is built into it
