Title: flywheel upgrade?
Post by: KRdubber on 23 February 2012, 13:12
Hi everyone, new here - names Phil.
Wondering if anyone had a 16v kr and had put a lightened flywheel on, if so any good? and whats the best upgrade for road driving, bearing in mind i dont want a harsh racing clutch.

Also does anybody have an overrun cut off valve for the same engine?
Any help much appreciated,
Thankyou.

The 020 clutch is a funny one - it's about face vs a conventional flywheel and clutch arrangement.

You can get a lightened cover thingamy to put on it.  This will improve throttle repsonse a bit, but might make the car shunt slightly more in traffic.

Shouldn't cause a huge issue though.  Go for it would be my advice.

Thanks, i think thats why i need to get one thats tried and tested so its not too jumpy in traffic and something that wont effect the top end rediculously.

Well, you need a new one - these things do wear.

But it needs to be from a well-proven supplier.

Might be able to point you in the right direction - giz a couple of hours and I'll check.

Talk to JP at JNL Racing: http://www.jnlracing.com/

"Yes we can we got one 200mm 8v one in stock at the moment £60 outright sale as old stock. If doing a 210 16v one from scratch just lightened and balanced is £80 exchange"

Good guy, heaps of expertise.
