Title: what is this?

just a quick one.
what is this thing in bottom left corner of my engine bay in the pic? it keeps making a ticking noise.

Charcoal canister and yes ticking is normal  :smiley:

bit of engine space i.e less clutter  :smiley:

i dont think id remove the time bomb :-/ same as im umming and arrr ing about a catch can.. all i mean is why would vw go to all the effort to put these things in if theyre not needed  :nerd:

It's more for emissions, if you remove it all and fit a catch can then it's still less clutter.
