well as you all know i lost my job couldnt afford insurance on the 16v so had an 8v i was advertising the 16v for a while and then the 8v had to go back to its owner :@ and now the 16v has gone aswell due to family commitments ect i had to say no to the hatchbacks and find a saloon cheap to insure i advertised on here for a while but to no avail and now im ashamed to say i have had to get a vectra. but im not totally outa the mk3 forum just means i got alot of time to spend on the missuses 1.6 cl now get back into work and make it the cr i always wanted mine to be :)

How much is the vectra gsi on insurance compared to the golf? I'd have thought it would be more expensive?

its nea on a grand and a half cheaper to insure im guessing its because its a family car i dont know it was through quote me happy 1800 fully comp 20 with no ncd only had license 4 months

although i only got the vectra cos it was rare bein an msd model there only 3000 or so made so personally its y i got it and the cheap insurance

Hate to burst your bubble but all Vectra GSI's were made by MSD apart from the later 2.6 cars which were made in house by Vauxhall.
The whole MSD thing came about as over the years some cars lost the slam panel sticker / spec plate.
And they made a lot more than 3000, estates were a lot rarer.

Thay made 3900 + but estates were rare in the mk1 they only made 317 cars in total, ST200 was 24 cars in total.
They were all converted from standard cars by MSD in Swindon, engine mods were simple really they just fitted the cams from the 3.0.
