Hello,
I'm from Holland so my Englisch is not very good, especially writing.
So it can be difficult to read, i'm sorry about that.
I have a big project of saving a Mexican vr6...
here it was in a very poor state.
I have let it repainted and cleaned some parts.

With black Samco coolant hoses.

Your English is better than my Dutch, and you have picked the perfect vessel for the inhabitant of a country constructed entirely of reclaimed land.

And Yesterday i found my last update for the interior

Glad you all like my car
I try to go to 1 meeting in England, so maybe you will see me there
Whats the best meeting there?
-
You mean a meet or a show?
Show wise, a lot of people travel over for Ultimate Dubs. I would be applying to show indoors there next year if I were you.
-
I'm not gonna make that show
what is better show or meeting? here in holland we call almost everything a meeting
-
Lovely car mate, great job you've done. That interior is
-
Meetings are usually quite small, and just with people from local areas. They usually only last a few hours and are just for people to have a little look at others cars, and to catch up etc. Shows are large and usually well organised events. They generally last a weekend and have lots of entertainment, stalls for sellers, cars judged in certain catagories, live bands or DJ's doing sets in the evening, and lots of beer and barbecues! Its a great weekend and good for people that have a long way to travel like yourself.
-
aha ok, then i'm looking for a show.
Bit simular to M.I.V.W.
I think you guys know that show
-
Edition38 August 31st - September 2nd is your best bet if you're travelling so far.
-
i've heard about ED38, but if i have to believe the guy's over here its more a drink festival than a true show
And i certainly don't want to sleep in a tent :embarassed:
-
Maybe the players show at North Wield in Essex if its on again this year?
-
Very nice motor, love the interior.
-

And i certainly don't want to sleep in a tent :embarassed:
And MIVW isn't   They don't force you to drink and last year they had to extend the show field compared to previous years as there were so many show cars on the Sunday.
You can kip in a hotel at ed38, probably the only show in the UK that I'd travel all that way for, although maybe gti international if you make a weekend of it.

I've been to the last 2 Players, good cars turn up for that!

I've allready heard that a small group of us go to Players, so i think i will join them
-
And a small update for this weekend
Just sold the RS'en
So i will try another set of wheels tomorrow
-
The RS's looked great man! What are you getting to replace them?
-
I've bought these for a couple of weeks.

I love the Merc alloys! What size are the wheels, tyres and offset? Plus what size adapters?
One last question, what is the name of the Audi alloys and sizes etc?
-

Haha they are for sale
17" MB Segins from a SL500 with 185/35/17 tyres on et46 with 25mm adapters.
The Audi's are Norwegian monoblocks 17" 7,5j et40 Also for sale
-
(http://i43.tinypic.com/vfgggp.jpg)
Still have my doubts.
this is photoshopped
-
I think the Audi's mirror polished would be a winner!
I am running 16's on my mk3 and I have always thought that was the perfect size, however, you are definitely changing my mind with your wheel choices!
-
Well the set of Audi's that i wanted, was a set of rubbisch wheels.
The seller told me they where in Mint condition but that was not the case.
So i stay with the MB wheels for the moment
-
Although the MB's are great wheels, It's a shame the Monoblocks were not in the condition you wanted. Could they not be refurbished?
-
That was to much work.
But i've allready found and bought a other set of Monoblocks
-
Awesome! Are they the same style or different?
-
the same style.
When i get the adapters i will try them on ;p
-
(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y229/puntoracing/P1020850.jpg)
-
That is awesome!
-
Christ, your going through wheels quicker than Wayne!
Look awsome, but I think I preferred the Merc wheels. Your car though so thumbs up!
-
I bought them just to try them on the car.
I don't know yet if i keep them
-
Like I said before, fully polished, I think they would look awesome! I love the Merc rims as well but I think the Audi rims look fresher :)
-
I reckon stick with the Audi rims as the Merc ones are more common.

+1 :)

Well i've just orderd the wheel adapters,
that will gonna take a week, custom made
But maybe i can borrow some for tomorrow to fit them
-

What size did you go with?
-
Well the adapters will be made for the segins.
20 and 25mm thick.
I think that for the audi's i need 15 and 20mm.
First gonna try it, the segins are nice if they stay in the arches
the monoblocks need to be straight with the arches for max result

The Audi's are not ready yet.
With these wheels the vr6 will be going to W'see.
I hope the audi wheels are ready after W'see
-
Ahh, fair enough! They both look sick either way :) Have fun at W'see, VERY jealous!
-
hi liking the car in the first few pictures you have coloured spring clamps (http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac201/piebobs71/P1020419.jpg) where did you get them? cheers
-
The coloured spring clamps are the clamps i orded at the vw-dealer, so they are orginal parts
-
and they come that colour or did you paint/powder coat them?
-
Standard factory colours.
-
any ideas what other colours if any they do?
-
they are standard factory coloured like this.
I would powdercoat them black, much nicer than all kind of colors i got now
-
And from now on, its possible to go really low
-
Ooo i like that very much.

I take it you don't have speed bumps in Holland.... :D :D :D :D :D :D

18's are massive for a mk3 but if you get the fitment right they will be
-
They're lovely wheels but why 18's?
-
You can only buy them in 18"
-
there are only for sale in 18" at the moment.

You are such a wheel whore! I wish I have even owned one of the sets you go through! I have just bought some 17 inch Audi TT alloys, what size tyres do you run on your 17's?
-

Haha i'm not as bad as a mate of mine.
he changed 35 sets of wheels in the past 2 years
But i would use 185/35r17, i just love that size of tire
-
35 sets! Thats crazy! How many have you had since you have had the VR? Cheers for that, I was looking into different tyre sizes and I didn't know weather to go for 165/40/17's or 185/35's. Your's always sits really well, so I thought I would get your opinion :)
-
this is my 11'th set of wheels i believe.
The Audi wheels are 7,5J width are they?
than i will go for the 185/35, nicer stretch as wel
