I think you get the point.
Great set of photos from someone first time out with a DSLR.
Go wild with it.
But try not to let the results become too contrived, too quickly - keep off the effects etc on Photoshop, unless you really know what you're doing.
Love your use of depth of focus and composition already has very positive signs - looks to me as if you're thinking about the photos, rather than shooting the sh*t out of stuff. This could be why you're getting good results straight outta the box. Keep using time to build the photo as you get more adept with the camera - it will keep your photos higher quality.
I have no idea what the tanks and the rail are doing in among those photos, but as you may start to appreciate - not all shots work!
Edit hard and keep your standards high and have fun!

good work for first use of an dslr, key thing to remember is its quality not quanity, dont be afraid to take 80 shots and only like 2 or 3
-
2nd shot for me would have been  as if you had focused in the tank as DH refers to it. Love the tones and silver cars can be a b1tch to shoot because of that so :afro:
-
Eh?
Tanks:

Dont think much to your workshop bud...
Seriously though, good pics there. Well thought out in my opinion.
Silver cars are an arse to photograph.
-
Didn't even see that one  Your sarcasm proceeded you on this occasion DH

Im not following there? BARGE? lol
the tanks where just a pic i took fully zoomed in. nothing really spectacular tho. and the Rails diddnt turn out the way i had wanted them too. i will try again some time.
but thanks for the good comments, im pretty chuffed with my 1st attempts!
