Hi, my names Ricardo and i'm a newbie.
Decided i've had enough of a certain 'scene' website (Edition...)
where evryone is slated unless your one of the so-called trend
setters. On said site ordinary dudes like myself were posting pic's up
of their post '90 mk2's GTI rocking 4 spokes and small bumpers, to be fair
their motors are show worthy but on this site the hate the poor
dudes got was incredible. Now forward this on a few weeks and so-called
trend setters were doing exactly the same things to theirs car (not as well either)
but low and behold it was like the 2nd coming.
It just seemed unless your affliated with one of the 'main' show garages/ bodyshops
your nobody.
I always thought people built their cars for themselves and any compliments
were a bonus... also bearing in mind the old adage, 'if you've nothing nice to
say then don't say it'.
From what i've seen this site is full of good-good vibes and i'm looking foward to
the, banter, advise and helpful critisism.
Im in a Mk3 Fjord Blue 3dr ABF, no ac, no sunroof and got classy plans, watch this space peeps

Hi and welcome , got and plans for the car? Re-spray, air ride?

Welcome....Indeed, there is a few forums out there how are ran by people who are right up their own ass. This one is good though!
-
well plan to leather it up first, done the rear and door cards, ultimately after a pair of Reacro A8's but colour concepts for the right price will be a good stop gap.
Got later smoothed door strips off black vr on at mo, just gotta colour code them. Also de-arched the car too. Next step is debaged grille, in black to compliment blacked-out Mk style lights. After that i want great dirty flared arches, a 2 fingered salute to these 'award' winners. Respay then tweeked R32...is that toomuch to ask, i dunno lol
Baically if you look in the current edition of the Performance VW mag, there's an american silver MK3 with flared arches, i'm going for that look but in blue, want a car to be driven hard, not a show queen.
And yes indeed they are up their own jackseys, too many with 'God' complexes personally

Sounds like a plan!, got any pics? You should a dub rides thread!

Oh yeah it'll be on coilovers although i actually think i prefer to 'comfort' of up-rated lowered suspension. I don't have big money to spend on the coilovers that give u both unfortunately.
Also can't dcide between 16's or 17's although my dream wheels are those Porsche Cups RS ones, you know the 5 spoke split rim jobbies, were on that Gareths red R32 Vento, love em.
I am taking pics as i go along and will do a job lot near the end shortly

and don't get me started on 'scene' tax
I sell something on that site and it won't go and even then i'm still knocked stupidly,
a 'trend' setter sells exactly the same in the same condition but at twice the price,
it not only goes but al the brown nosers fly out the wood work with endles bum lick...
'GLWS', 'WOW', 'OOOOOHH', 'AMAZING'... 3 pages of this and all to sell a VW grille badge?
I had an eibach anti-roll bar kit for a Mk3, rear only but brand spanking un-used, £50 and did it sell like hell, i eventually gave it away elsewhere for a fiver, how i never saw this site earlier i'll never know.
Wow i'm feeling better already, didn't relise i was so pent up over that site lol
