I have a MK5 Golf GT TDi DSG. Can anybody recommend a decent armrest that is easily fitted??
Thanks.

do vw not sell arm rests for the mk5? not going to get any better quality/fitment than that

Speak to your local dealer. The arm rest was an option on the MK5, as to how easy it is to fit unfortunately I cant help. Had an arm rest on my last 2 cars and dont know how Id ever live without one now.

There are currently 3 mk5 Golf armrests for sale on eBay; cheapest is £110 (but no rear vents or cup holder), the most expensive is £175. Links below;

VW have one to fit the mk6 Golf in their accessories brochure. Cost is £242 fitted. As the mk6 Golf is basically a heavily facelifted mk5, this might also fit the mk5. Link to the armrest in the accessories brochure below;

At least VW say fit to put a DIN sized hole in the armrest.
I know this is my Passat, but you'll get the idea.

Unless you are gonna do the rest I the venting from the dash/console then there is little point getting the ones with rear vents and cup holders
^ that my friend is also something I had thought about. Not that it matters as I have a double din but sweet stealth mode :cool:
