Didn't we discuss this a year ago when it was revealed at Worthersee 2011?

For me both models are a bit flawed. As hatchbacks, the GTI and R models can get away with comparatively boxy looks in favour of practicality, but as convertibles, practicality is no longer one of the main considerations. The Audi TT loses 2 seats but looks much, much better than either variation and there are plenty of 4 seater options for those wanting something bigger.

The models are taking an awkward ground between cars like the TT and bigger convertibles such as the EOS, A4 convertible and so forth. I don't expect them to sell that well.

they can't sell the normal golf cabrio so who in their right mind would buy one of these ones?

The wife wants a Golf Cabrio when we change the 93 but I think it looks like a pram. The GTi and R ones just look like fast prams!!!!

Basically same hood as A3 cabriolet, based on my experience - dont go there!!! Hood mech has flawed design and won't last. I also think the golf cab isn't selling. A new unregistered was ~ £5k off in my local dealer.

There was a golf cabriolet at my local dealer the black roof was covered in dust and white fluff and it's brand new,I couldn't be having that it would drive my OCD into meltdown
