Hi,
Firstly thanks for all your help with my recent question on 'DSG Hill Start', your advice was very helpful.
I now have another similar question which I hope you can also help me with. When I get my GTI it'll be parked on a driveway which slopes downhill from the road and so every time I reverse it out of the driveway, I'll be reversing uphill. The question then of course is what's the best way of doing this with a DSG gearbox so that the car doesn't roll forwards?
Thanks very much.

The car won't roll forward when it's in gear, reverse gear won't allow it.

Select R, handbrake off, foot brake to hold and then accelerate. This is not a problem with DSG.

Glad I've got a manual, all seems to be a hassle to me....

Yeah, putting it in R and not having to worry about rolling backwards or forwards is a real pain in the ass....

As above, should'nt be a problem
... you could always reverse in (downhill) anyway could'nt you ? (rather than out)

This.
Bearing in mind, reversing onto a main road is illegal ...

It's not illegal, it's not a good idea but it's not illegal.
