I went to use my cig lighter today (for the 1st time) and found the button would not press in. Removed the black button and found a pin inside was bent. No problem, bent it back. Found it doesnt heat. Looked in the fuse box and found the cig fuse ok. (It has been changed at some point as its a diffent fuse design) There must have a been a prob with it before. The fusebox cover said that fuse was for a few things, all of which work. Checked the wiring connector and there is no voltage at all at the cig lighter end.
Any idea how i can diagnose my problem or anyone kjnow the likely candiate for this problem? Any ideas greatly appreciated. I just hope its not a dash out job just so i can plug in my phone charger.

If the fuse is fine, it could be that you have damage wiring somewhere. The easiest thing to do is, check the voltage at the most accesible places. Is there any voltage in the circuit at all?

I have only checked at the plug at the back of the lighter. The wires dissapear behind the dash after that. I didnt want to remove the dash incase someone knew whats wrong.

Are you using a multimeter to check voltages? If you are, you could try doing a resistance check from the wire coming from the fuse to the cig lighter. If there is an overload reading there is broken wire somewhere.
