Anyone know of supplier of copper / alloy brake pipe kits?

You should be able to source the brake pipe, fittings and purchase a pipe flaring kit.............none of it is as expensive as you might think. Try asking at your local autofactors as a starting point. They may have the lot, at the very least the flaring kit and fittings and point you in the right direction for the pipe :wink:

go to any auto fatcors and you can buy a roll of it for about 4 or 5 quid, and get some ends. if they have the tool they may be able to put the ends on for you. failing that go to a tyre exhaust place and chuck them a few quid to put the ends on. all you have to do is measure your old ones and cut the copper tube with tube cutters (v.important) then get the ferules put on. once you've done that follow the old hoses shape as accurately as possible. its pretty easy, i've just done my whole car like that!

Replies appreciated, brake pipes from spares auto outlets - is it pure copper or copper / alloy, jeeees i guess i am picky, just wary of putting pure copper on, heard and read too many scary stories and at 160mph i dont want to find out the hard way.
Pure copper - especially when flaring the ends makes it super thin combined with pressure from flare nut and mechanical / travel vibration add a couple of hundred degrees of heat transfer of boiling dot 5.1 and the pressure of compression of fluid itself all adds to scary thoughts of the pedal hitting the deck at the wrong time.
Add nickel to copper and problem solved - pipe is 100% more malleable and reliable....
Can i trust mr patel at my local store to sell me copper alloy or is it refrigeration copper pipe - size to suit on a 25m roll = trade price £9
Has any one heard of using stainless ( no more options pleaaase )........you know how it is when you have something in your head, it gets you spun out :laugh:
