LOL we can also quote you if interested. What a funny thread
And personally I'd recommend doing away with the DPF. Either a new bypass with correct flange connectors or cleanly smash the old one through.
Just for fun, here's one we did a few weeks back on my mates Vectra 150.

Any tuners out there pla quote price and what work to be done any recommendations etc?
Cheers
-
Spoke to carbon tuning they want mechanical work done elsewhere and then 325 for software so I think not!
-
That's not a ridiculous price really, and in this trade you pay for quality.
A remap is only ever as good as the company that's developed it and seeing as it's the most fundamental aspect of your car, controlling every parameter, it's the one area not to skimp on.
I can vouch for Carbon, they will see you right. And if that price includes a mobile tune, it's reasonable.
-
Question is - what do you want from the car and how much do you want to spend?

will piss mesen when others want more

Urm you realise that some companies charge around £500 + for DPF delete software...........and around £800+ including the DPF delete pipe
-
yes i know some jainstrean companies like jbs etc charge 800 odd but u just wudnt get the work done by places like that!
there a local garage who wants 250 to gut dpf and remap am very sceptical about it as it sounds too cheap however he has done loads of audis bt not a golf yet
i asked if its a generic map he goes we basically read your map and send it away and they email one back but tbh he didnt sound overly impressive!
the carbon chip guy sounded like a honest decent bloke as its close to me i cud try them the onlything was at the moment they are not doing the mechanical work, so that would mean i wud have to get the gutting done at a garage and them drive up with no dpf in place.
At the moment its looking like carbon unless r tech can offer anything better.
-
Get a proper delete pipe put on
-
right i think i will be going to carbon tuning so am going to book my car in, ave read their feedback and it seems very good.
i just need to source a downpipe now
Rhys: Howcome you havent changed your downpipe yet?
-

A case of the time about 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'
The mileage I currently do means that the DPF shouldn't ever be an issue for me; I also have full VAGCOM so can monitor everything and fix it before it becomes a problem :nerd:
I'll most likely get a DPF delete pipe in the future but it's not top of my list
You won't be disappointed with the Carbon remap
-
Yeah man buzzing can't wait?
Is there any online sellers selling the delete pipes?
-

Not that I know of :undecided: I think Carbon can supply you the pipe for you to get it fitted  Speak to Nick or Craig and they'll sort you out :afro:
I've seen a copy of the pipes they get made and they are
-
Yeah spoke to nick he said the pipes 165 delivered and has hole for the lambda sensors and the other sensors are just tied back but are still kept electrically plugged in ?
As they need to be in place to keep the circuit out don't need to be in place mechanically if you see what I mean?
Does this sound right?

Adam: Jesus 400 notes think I'll stick with the carbon one

Yes they need to be electronically in place otherwise the ECU will throw a hissy fit and you'll be in limp mode permanently :nerd:
So £165 + £325 plus a few quid for fitting = WIN

Unlikely to be that severe; depends how much power you want out of the car
-
Rhys: nice chatting.
Not massive power just a steady stage 1 around 210 with dpf delete

-
Adam: yeah sorry wasn't having a go at you. I meant in general ouch!!! The jbs job is way ott.

That was a good read was it standard 190? And then remapped to 215??
Did the remap have anything to do with the engine going kaput

Nope; cock up by Audi when they replaced the injector; allowed fuel to mix in with the oil
Engine is fine and its all back up and running
-
No standard was 170 mate.
Nope the engine problem was due to Audi fitting an injector incorrectly.
I'm in two minds If I'm selling it for something BMW'ish.
-
I once drove a 335d it was unreal no matter what golf you have it is nothing compared to that. The thrill and acceleration is breathtaking even at 120 it pulls like a train.
It was the fastest car ave ever driven. Amen
-
Oh dilemmas got a sound price from r tech to do custom mapping and dpf gut n weld now I am confused
-
If you don't mind could I ask how much?
-
Am a returning customer so 250 to map 150 to gut usual is 500
-
I would rather hav a pipe made up. What's saying 2 years down the line diesels are tested on emissions and you have to fork out for a new or second hand DPF.
And another thing that put me off smashing my DPF out is the poor design of the DPF itself, having all that large void can not be free flowing.

yeah your right there the pipe doesnt look very free flowing at all the miltek version looks tasty
-
The miltek is also very expensive. If Craig is supplying the pipe and it's being done by the same person who did mine it's a proper bit of kit. I'm very picky about welding but this pipe is superb.

hell yes

Any pics of the pipe pls?
-
Not the pipe on my car but its for a Transporter that Craig commissioned iirc. I'll try and get a pic of mine.
