Title: 02 Passat V5 no brake lights???

Mate has a passat. No normal brake lights working. High level is fine. Checked bulbs and fuses all good. Got it code read as ABS/ESP light on too. Faultly brake light switch. Changed the switch still no normal brake lights? It was a genuine switch from the dealers, possilbe to be faulty i guess. Anyone got any other idea on what to check?? Cheers Mike

I would start by testing the switch with a meter, it should be on or off.
You could try bridging the socket for the switch.
