Some questions for you long term owners.............(me only a few months)
If the headlight switch is set to auto, and the screen washers are activated, will the headlamp washers work ? or will they only work if headlights are actually lit ?
Also, once the headlamps have been washed, will they only be activated every 5 'washes of the windscreen' ?
Is it fuse 36 to de-activate ? bit like going through a car wash !

I'm pretty certain the headlight washers only work when the headlights are actually lit.
The standard setting is every 5 washes of the windscreen.
Sorry, don't know which fuse you need to remove to deactivate them, but agree, they do use a lot of water and I don't think they're that effective at keeping the headlights clean either.

If the lights are xenon don't the wash every time?
You can code the washers to activate less with vagcom

I have xenons, and my headlight washers seem to activate at least every 4th or 5th time you activate the windscreen washers... assuming the lights remain on for those 4-5 washes! i.e. the intervals aren't remembered if the lights go out! So it seems to me that if your lights go out and come back on again, then the washers will spray again the next time you use the windscreen washer.

If you double flick the washer quickly they won't operate the headlight washers , just the windscreen ones

I just disabled mine with VCDS, Fuse 36 does the same thing,
They never cleaned the lights anyway, I just give them a wipe with a cloth if they get dirty.

My windscreen Washer fluid levels do seem to be permanently low, might look at going old-school too!

I'm sure all that strong winter screen wash doesn't do the wax on the bonnet much good.
