Title: What is a boost gauge?
Post by: DMcK on 12 February 2012, 16:59
I've had a search on here but can't find anything explaining what a boost gauge is. Could someone please explain what they are, used for and if necessary please? Cheers

The measure the amount of boost pressure on a turbo or supercharged engine, and display it in either BAR or Psi (Or both) on a dial gauge.

Very handy to have one, lets you keep an eye on the boost levels and you can soon spot if you have a problem

Very useful if your running high boost levels.
If not as Wayne said you can see if your boost levels are low, for example if you have any cracks in hoses.
If you don't have one there is no problem :)

Cheers people. Might invest in one then. Would rather know if I have a problem.
