Can anyone help point me in the right direction with this problem I'm trying to solve?
I've tried to get a replacement oe radio aerial for my Mk 2 but the local VAG dealer says it's no longer available. I mail ordered from a local shop who said they had an aerial for a Mk 2 and it's for a Mk 3! Can I make an aerial from a Mk 3 fit a Mk 2 or should I return it and see if I can get the correct item. The flexi rubber aerial I have at the moment from Halfords has never had very good reception.

German and swedish do it for about 4 squid be careful when routing the cable tho its tight!

Is this an aerial on the wing you need? I found the roof mounted ones 100 times better!! If a wing one gsf are cheap as chips!!!

Yes aerial is the telescopic type mounted on the front n/s wing. I didn't think GSF would stock that kind of part so I never checked with them. Is the reception that much better with a roof mounted aerial?

Yes generally (depending on the reception in where u live etc). I find it much better when travelling as it can pick up more frequencies.
Plus the main bonus is you dont have to remember to put it up before u set off!!! Also it looks much better!!

I find mine loads better as its got an aerial booster for better reception plus some f'#ker broke my aerial on my old jetta once ( i even left it down ) Looks better no arguments there!! Easy enough to fit one any bodyshop will mount (one hole in the roof) And if someone pinches your aerial all ya gotta do is screw a new un in!! Or beat em and glue it in so they cant get it!!
