will a flashing oil light or handbrake light not working fail an mot?

Yes but id be more concerned why the oil pressure light is flashing

it's a wiring fault... are they both a failure then?

No, warning lights aren't an MOT failure until after 1st of April 2012.

Even the brake one Lewy if so that should have been changed years ago! ABS one are fail thought right?

it's getting mot'd in the next 2 weeks... does that mean i should be okay then? was planning on getting them both sorted but not right now

Im fairley sure the handbrake light is a fail.

No it is not a failure....My handbrake light doesn't work and my 16v and didn't get failed on it last week, don't see why it should, it has no safety risks?

Handbrake light is also low brake fluid level warning.
