Title: key fob question??? old type to newer type
Post by: badboybunty on 11 February 2012, 14:34
hi all,
i have been playing with my spare key as the case is all cracked its the early type casing i have managed to get the transponder chip out with out damaging it (really easy) just soaked the part in boiling water for 5 min and used a toothpick and fell out!

my question is i have a early type key fob with 2 buttons can i get the later type case and transfer blade board and transponder to the newer type case like this one???

yes thats totally diffrent thats for a new key fob

i have a early fob the case is cracked and wanted to use the later style fob case

the case has cost me £6 of ebay to transfer all the bits off my exsiting fob and modify the case

not to buy the complete key and pay to have the transponder coded into my car

so will cost me £7 all in to change my case over to new type and not have to programe the complete key
