No!! Lol, this ones a high miler but it's had a lot of work done, got a long mot and very tidy looking considering
-

Firstly make sure the engine and stuffs all alryt then firstly lower it! Wheels when I got some spare cash, I've got colour coded bumpers on my 1.6 so don't know whether to keep it gti spec of fully colour code it, and I wanna do something like this with the bay

Not gonna lie, I loved my 16v totally standard! Could spank it on the bumpy back roads. It oversteered and was great fun to drive.
If you lower it on cheap coilovers you will loose all of that!
-
Don't wanna slam it coz I still want it to handle, I only slammed my 1.6 bcoz, well it was only a 1.6 lol
-
Good luck with it :afro:
-
I see you have bought one in the best colour for a Mk3 as well
Looks nice, will keep an eye out for updates.

Couldn't properly tet out the engine bcoz I had too follow dad home but dropped back a couple times n flawed it, the engine is awesome, sounds soo good and I was very surprised at how well it still pulls at 80/90mph. There's a couple I'll things need doing to but sport from sticking a cd player init and some of these

The cat likes it lol
-
I'd be chasing that cat away with a kettle of boiling water! Cat + Paintwork = Scratches!
Other than that, looks like a great buy :afro:
-
Dw the cat was removed quickly after the photo.
Cheers :afro: loving the power, lil bit more then the 1.6
-
Looks really clean and tidy :afro: dare I say, it could do with being hit with the lowering stick
-
Looks mint, probably the only type of pussy the mk3 will attract
-
Drop it 40mm and enjoy it, don't slam it

says the man whos got a dropped mk3,
just do what you want to it, but dont buy cheap coilovers if you want to drop and retain some comfort,
cheap coilovers aren't that bad, they only ride hard when you drop them real low.
-
I have a slow 8v gti dropped on it's arse and stanced out.
I also have a vr6 dropped 50 front 40 rear with a good set of coilovers. Has standard alloys and sticky yoko tyres
-
Good luck with it mate. Hope you check the sills for rust? You saw the state of my old valver right?
-
nice move have some fun  i will be keeping an eye on it
-
Cheers!
Yh I only want a 40mm drop as the roads round here are fairly twisty so want to have some fun init, what coilovers do you recommend? Can I get a good set for around £400?
Yh I saw your old valves shady didn't look good, I'm gunna remove the sills and arches soon but there's no rust/rust bubbles near the sills so fingers crossed there gunna be ok/ minimal rust.
What's the best way to remove the sills? I did a search but no luck.?

The outer covers just pull off (you have to remove the end cap inside the front wheel arch first), with the covers off there are just a few screws holding the inner sill cover to the sill
As for coilovers, £400 should get a decent set...Weitecs or something similar.
-
Cheers that my job for next weekend sorted then
Ideal, are these any good?

I had a set of fk streets on the 1.6 and they seems pritty good.
-
For around 200 you could get a full suspension kit, I.e springs and shocks. And if you want the low look snd still retain good hamdling go for a 60mm drop. My mates.on that set up and handles very well
