Title: Clutch gone, help!

Hi all. My mates car has just clonked out. Its a 1.6 mk4, i thought it may have been gearbox but car still moves and there's not sign of gearbox oil leaking anywhere. Could it be a fecked clutch plate? Because no matter how hard i push that gearknob wont go anywhere!

Any help would be great as we need the car by sunday! Cheers

selector rods? release bearing maybe?

Could still be a duff gearbox, sounds like something has broke.
