Title: What bonnet? Pattern or genuine
Post by: RobinGolf on 20 May 2005, 11:22
Hi,

I am going to be getting a new bonnet for my MK1 and was wondering if it is OK to go for a pattern one from someone like GSF as they are half the price of a VAG one!

What is the quality and fit like on the pattern ones?  Would I be better off shelling out for a genuine one?

Cheers

I'd check this out but with panels etc from GSF might actually be OEM so they'd be the same from VAG anyway. I rang them about a fuel filler neck the other week and they said that that was OEM. As I say, I'm not 100% about this but it costs nothing to ask.  :undecided:

I'd go down the scrappy and pick up a genuine one thats in reasonable nick. Cheaper than getting one from VAG and will be better quality than a pattern one.
