Title: 1.8T stroker kits - talk to me!
Post by: Chris. on 09 February 2012, 16:27
Thought of a stroker kit on a 1.8T when money allows.  Obviliously its designed for big turbo setups but im wondering what parts you need to make it?

Ive heard you use a 2.0 FSI crank and a long time ago you can use a 1.9 crank?
What parts are needed to be swapped over if you were to build your own kit?  I guess you need to press the oil ring gear onto the crank on for the 1.8T oil pump, but what other modifications are needed?

A lot of kits seem to come with pistons?  Are they needed as well as a block overbore or not?  Rods would be ran either way and I guess you can stil use the 144mm/20mm rods that you normally use for a 1.8T?

Whats the reliability like?

Just probing into the kits to help make a decision really.
