my clutch cable outer support pedastal has come off, the weld has broke at top of pedal box...anyone else had this issue?
pedal box looks like a right cow to get out.. steering column to be moved up out of the way...
Any tips?
Cheers

And you also need to remove the center console as the pedal box goes all the way to the passenger footwell.

Nope!!
Dash out, steering column out, pedalbox out.
The accelerator is bolted to the bulk head, not the pedalbox

Indeed. But OP is talking about clutch...

Indeed he is, but the pedalbox doesn't go through to the passenger side, it is literally just the brake pedal and clutch pedal on a bracket, bolted through the bulk head. Its just the accelerator that runs through to the passenger side, behind all the center console heating gubbings

Ben speaks the truth
here is a late mk3 one with provisions for hydro (early ones are same but won't accept hydro)

Ah right, I thought it ran through to passenger side too. Nice to know it's not THAT much of a ballache if it does ever need doing

all i know its a right pain getting it out, especially when shear bolts are involved on the column, and there are 2 other bolts that go from a pedal box support bracket bolt through from the cabin area to the tunnel... can't even get/see too them..!! Oh what fun..!!
