Title: New bolts -suspension change
Post by: Shivas Regal on 07 February 2012, 20:50
Im about to embark on aftermarket suspension for my 16v

Was wondering if I should be changing any old bolts in the process.

I want to get everything u need before I start dismantling

You can still get the original camber bolts from vw. One should be 'thinner' in the middle than the other. As stated top mounts (mk3 I read somthing about???) and the few holding bolts that keep the suspension together with I wouldnt bother with. You may want to look into doing your bushings whilst your at it but thats up to do, I didnt but I probs should have done for the sake of £20

Stick G3 GTI top mounts on the set up - stronger, more hard-wearing.

You will need the top metal plates to go with.

The metal caps.... Are they the spring caps?

NO, they go on top of the top mounts, in the engine bay.

You will may need spring caps as well.
