Title: mini cooper not bmw one
Post by: robiwill on 04 February 2012, 15:41
Hi thought I would ask on here as been a member for longer than I care to remember and always found the replies fair

A mate has asked me to sell his car its a 1994/1993  L reg mini 1275 cooper in british racing green, white roof, chrome grill bumpers etc. straight on the body, mileage is around 100K some history. nice set of minilites with yokos,  nice half leather interior, straight through exhaust and think it is lowered as shocks are yellow and springs are red. Mechanically last time it was on the road it was fine. He took it off the road about 3 years ago to restore the body work as usual rust problems but like so many projects it has not been touched since. I found it for him 4 years ago with mot and tax and think we got it for a song at £750. Whats it worth now?

He did spend quite a bit on it but because he was doing all the work himself it did cut down the labour costs,

There are 2 more minis in there now going through a full restoration

Love your Mini rich :)

Problem with old Minis is that its hard to put a price on them, could get 1500 for it, could get 500. Without pictures its hard to tell, I got mine for a steal at £900 and its super limited :)

There is a Guy in Rochdale that my Dad was good friends with, He owned a Mini specialist Garage, I still go down there every now & then for a brew, His Garage is now like an Aladins cave full of old Mini parts that he has collected over the years

will try and get some pics from him problem is stored at his brothers house under a cover and he is about 30 miles away. Think he would be happy with £500 as it stands but it will need alot of work body wise might be easier to reshell it being a cooper.

mate will have no way of jacking it up where it is. also  struggling to source a cheap way of recovering it. Having spoken to him we have decided to run it on ebay 99p no reserve over 10 days so anyone interested can come and view will be up in the next few weeks when we both have time during daylight hours to do it. Its sat for the last 3 years so a few more weeks is going to mae no difference

A genuine Cooper that is unmoletsed and it top condition can be £8k or more.

A late model say £4k but again in mint condition.

Can't go wrong with the old cooper the one i was looking at had the blue and white paint it was a limited edition last of the coopers with the extra wide track. He was asking for about 4K for it but the wife didn't like the drone at full pelt on motoways which I said its a townie car
