Title: Mk4 key Fob
Post by: DubAndDubber on 03 February 2012, 22:18
Quick question. I have a blank mk4 golf key. I also have a aftermarket central locking system on the mk3 with remote.

Is it possible to swap the chip inside the mk3 fob into the mk4? I miss my mk4 key lol!

Cheers!

Sorry i miss read and meant the imobliser chip, but as for the fob it depends on the size of your fob internals as some will just not phisically fit inside the mk 4 fob, also where the button placment is ,best to open them both up and compare,a dremmel may be handy for  gutting the mk4 key, shaping it to accept the mk3 fob internals

There's a 'how to' some where on here, i did the mk4 flipkey mod on my last mk3. Fiddly but not too bad.
