I can't believe it - my gti now barely runs since being parked up in my garage for a month, its like it has no power at all.... Joy! On the plus side the MOT man said its 100% solid
-
Sounds as if the cold and damp have got into it.
-
Take it out and give it a real good thrashing once in a while!
-
Just ordered myself a VAG COM thingy so will see what faults it throws up
-
Did you disconnect the battery as it had been standing a long time?
If so you should only get new faults not old ones.
-
The only time the battery was disconnected was to put the charger on it as it was flat as a pancake
-
Well as that was at least a few hours then that should have wiped out any old fault codes.
Lesson learned there too! As if you know its going to be standing then best to disconnect battery, unless its kept out on the road.
-
Why disconnect it?
That won't solve any problems only prevent a flat battery
-
I think he ment just save the hassle of a flat battery, not about it solving anything

My 'Valver got a right strop on recently after being left for a while. Basically wouldn't idle properly and kept running rough if you tried for any meaningful acceleration. Your's doing something like this? If so, here's a link to the thread I started about mine. The good folk of the Forum were on fine form and pitched in a lot of useful info which helped me along. Might be some good to you.
