Title: Whats the law on posting airbags?
Post by: LowlifeDubber on 01 February 2012, 12:39: Ive done a bit of a search and no joy but im just about to pick up my new seats for the mk3 after a long time deliberating what to get.
Finally got a pair but they will come with airbags in the side.Working perfectly but i just wondered where i stand sticking them on ebay and posting them out?

I know you need 12v to set them off but just wanted to know if it was dangerous to post them.

could always just say they have to pick up /arange a courier and leave it up to them to sort out?

Post by: LowlifeDubber on 01 February 2012, 13:02: Yeah i didnt think there would be a problem but i had visions of them going off when the postie is trying to wang em through the letterbox and my leather seats actually costing me more than i wanted after paying out £5k on a claim! :grin:

I am quite tempted to keep them and have a play in the garden with them.But that would be childish and irresponsible......so i might do it anyway :grin:

Thats the exact video that make me want to do something similar involving the next door neighbours cat that keeps walking on my cars! :evil:

The post office have very strict rules on what can and cannot be posted:

Explosives: Any chemical compound, mixture or device capable of producing an explosive or pyrotechnic effect with substantial instantaneous release of heat and gas is prohibited. E.g. ammunition, blasting caps, fireworks, flares, fuses, igniters and nitroglycerine. Items that appear to be prohibited weapons or explosive ordnance, even if incapable of being used as a weapon, are prohibited.

Much to the amazement of passers by.

Im thinking blowing him up is the best thing to do.It's what baby jesus would want......... :evil:
