Last few days the car has started to make a droning noise while at low revs.
Doesnt make the noise idling and is not connected to the steering as i first thought
Any ideas what it is and potential cost for repair?
The noise is alot louder from cold
-
have you changed the belt ?
-
No, you think its the power steering belt?
-
Is there enough power steering fluid?
-
Yep... thats fine
-
I know it sounds daft, but mine was doing the exact same thing and was low
-

EDITED first post
Its connected to the engine rather than steering. Its doing it at low revs but not idling
-
does it make the noise whist stationary?
-
Never, its the sort of speed you do when pulling into a car parking space. But sometimes when i accelerate from a junction it sounds like i have an electric car
-
hmm. Mine drones at low speed. Some people said its tyre noise, not at car parking speed though. I dont think it is tyre noise however. Yours is not likely to be tyre, wheel bearing or even gearbox, so I am a bit stumped really
