Title: gear box oil

how much oil do i put back in my gear box i a changing the clutch in the new week or to so want to do a gear oil change at the same time.

all so do you want me to try and put a step by step gide to changing a clutch ??
or is it a wast of my time.(as i will take me twise as long to do the job  :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:)

2.2l for 02A and 2l for 020 from memory. I always buy 3l to be safe and also for topping up/future changes.

yeah do the guide, and you drain all the old stuff out, and fill it with the new stuff and wait for it to start trickling out, you should have enough when it stops seeping out, hope you get what i mean

you wont need more than 2L as you will never get all the old out

and you should never need to top up :-)


Iv just done the oil on the 6 speed box thats going in my dads MK4 (AUQ engine and gearbox conversion I'm doing)  its a bigger box than a 5 speed, drained it, exactly 2L came out.. and Exactly 2L went back in

on my 5 Speed box on the Mk3, i couldn't even get 2L in
