hello,
I have been looking at a Golf GTD in Dark grey loads of extras with 2850 miles on the clock.
is £2750 a good price?
Thanks
-
We need to know the full spec to be fair.
Is it on the VW Approved Used site?
-

-
Cheap as chips! I will take 20 of them
-
Hell Yeah! I'll take a few aswell!
-
So basically it's a bog standard 5 door GTD with DSG.
List price for a new one is £26,545.00. I think you can make your own mind up based on that.
-
lovely :) really appreciate the answers people! if and when i get it ill post some piks
Thanks

-
i thought you said there were tons of extras? there are none listed
with no options best you negotiate hard on this one as its not a good price
-
its got heated leather seats, sun roof, touch screen radio.
its a smart looking car
-
Ok, so if it's a 5 door GTD with DSG, metallic paint, RCD510 radio, sunroof and leather (standard btw) it's new list price is £28,040.00
Considering that a new car looses the VAT the minute it goes out throught the door, that would bring its value down to £23,366.66. I think you need to go in with your negotiating boots on.
-
i have just gone onto VW website and made the car with all the bit onit anhd has come in at £32,000
where di you get your price from?
thanks
-
Its all about supply and demand, if there's nothing else out there then what choice do you have?
I paid a lot for my used GTI but there was nothing else cheaper than it with the spec it had.

i have been looking for a wile to find the right one. this one has come up and i went to see it last night!
great looking car pictures dont really do any car justice i dont think. it has all i wanted onit. :)
-
yeah i know the feeling , its there and your tempted by the fact there is no wait (GTD will be months!)
but if you have the cash and not too bothered about the price then SOLD, but you should try and shave some bucks off it
if its new then you should also get bluetooth as std!

From the VW new car site. Based on the spec that you told use it had
its got heated leather seats, sun roof, touch screen radio.
Does it have Sat Nav, upgraded audio, parking sensors/camara 18" wheels? Those sort of extras would push it up to the £32k mark.
What sort of deal you'll get depends on how you want to pay. Go in with no px and a debit card and start the bidding at £26,000. You may get a better sticker price if they sell you finance, but you'll pay more back over all.

A GTD with only sunroof and DSG over the standard spec wouldn't be as much as 32k new, so the one you're thinking of buying must have some other goodies such as sat nav, xenons.
Just be aware that if it is fully loaded, VW dealers will be charging top dollar, and you'll suffer heavy depreciation when the time comes to sell. Better to find a lower spec one, as most options such as sat nav, reversing camera, bluetooth etc. can be retro-fitted, and you can recoup some of the retro-fit costs by installing the original items back in the car before you sell it, and flogging the upgrade items on e-bay.
However, if you've set your heart on this particular car, negotiate hard! Good luck!
-
True, most options can be retro fitted cheaper, but finding another with a sunroof would be a tough job.
-
I paid 27k from a dealer for my 59 plate dealer a couple of years ago. The car was X-Demo and came with 7k on the clock but was pretty much fully loaded apart from the ACC. I priced it up at the time and the car new came in around 32k.

i have now brought the car

nice colour, nice charlestons like the sunroof
looks like RNS 510 sat nav also, makes it a slightly better deal
-
Nice.
It looks like the extras are, Met paint, Adaptive Xenons, Charleston Shadows, Sat Nav, Parking Sensors (does it have a rear camara and park assist?) Cruise Control, Sunroof and Storage Pack.
Make sure you get the bottle opener and both ipod and USB leads for the MDI interface.

+1 on the colour, but I might be biased as it's the same colour as mine! That looks really nice. From the pictures, I can see it's got xenons, sat nav parking sensors and 18" Charlestons, as well as the sunroof, so a really good spec. Enjoy!

do I spy a shark fin on the roof too?

It's the GPS antenna for the Sat Nav.
-
oh I thought it was phone prep!
-
oh I thought it was phone prep!
I was in a new Match a few weeks ago. That had factory bluetooth and no shark fin. The dealer also had a Match in the showroom with Sat Nav, and that had said aerial.

Paid £27,750 - brand new - for mine a few months ago - GTD DSG - sun roof, 18" alloys, Sat Nav, metallic paint, parking sensors & luxury pack - so I would say if that is a demonstrator with a few thousand miles on the clock I would expect to pay a couple of thousand less.
