Sounds good on paper.
-
Sounds promising, i doubt it'll be out in 2012 though, the basic mk7's will be first as usual followed by the GTI a year later. :undecided:
-
The weight saving for the gti sounds good.
-
Weight savings sounds the best part, bet buyers won't see the cars being cheaper though, they need more than 230bhp imo
-
Don't see the point in having more than 230 bhp in a front wheel drive car.
-
Perhaps it'll capture a bit more of the mk1's magic with all the weight loss. Can only be a good thing
-
Aluminium roof and bonnet?
A good idea until some pissed teenager decides to run over the top of all the cars parked in the road.
-
They are coming out with a new golf almost every year. Boring!
-
So, it will cost less to build. So, can we expect a price drop!?
All sounds good, some of it is not new though...The more recent Tdi's already have balancing shafts.

Yeah cos that doesn't affect steel roofs and bonnets?....
-
I'm definitely interested.
-
wonder if they follow the golf trend and the mk7 will be bigger than a transit van so reps have more space to hang their shirts :undecided:
-
Generally sounds like good news... But why do they have to use an electronic limited slip diff? It sounds like an improvement over the brake system, but would a mechanical LSD not be better still? Does it cost much more?
-
This is surely the genuine mk6 they are referring to that will replace the current 5.5?
