as above got a farenheite amp and alpine CDE9850Ri CD player, problem has happened before and i thought it was my headlights but it wasnt that and the problem disapeared, but it started hapening again since yesterday, went to start it and it struggled to turn over but did start, then today went to start it and nothing not even a click. Got it jump started and then decided to have a poke around. And saw my amp green light on. This got me thinking that when i have been puting the face on my cd player it makes a boom. The cd player comes on without the ignition as there was a problem with the ignition barrel. Anyway the amp is running on a remote wire from thed cd player. How do i find out where the problem is?

remote amp turn on is permanently live
it needs to be connected to the blue/white remote out on the alpine problem solved

the cd player has been in the car for about over 5 years and just been a year since it has been playing up. i know i ran a blue remote wire from my cd player (labled remote) to the amp (remote) il check on this 2moz, cheers for that. (unless the wire is loose and has a strand touching the live??
but thanks for pointing that out

sorted it. Turned out to be a strand from the positive cable touching the remote.
Thanks for that troublestarter.
1 more thing which colour is the wire in the dash for the dimmer on my alpine?
